I had a JVC QL-A7 and never notice it slow or wavering in sound.
But, I could see in the scope it was wavering very slightly. Did yo measure them both while play the same LP? If dead on while playing the LP, then I would say it just your mind playing tricks on you. Are the LP's in question true or are the off center a little bit?

Issue has been resolved.
I did measure them both playing the same LP. As posted earlier, issue caused most likely by frequency/phase shift.
In the scope I see similar effect with both decks - wavering slightly. Doesn't affect the sound, though.
