Yes the look can be deceiving of course But by looking well you can spot some issues ?

thanks again and yes For instance in the dq10 is cut at 400Hz I saw a FR and if i remember well it is flat up to at least 3kHz
For this reason if i only could understand the dq10 xover i would try a redux version giving more range to the Philips where it could shine more
The bass is not its strong point In the Infinity i would have used another midwoofer It can be done
Some years ago i found a pair of Goodmans midwoofer paper cone plastic basket with a huge coil for shallow mount in cars
No bass to speak of but the midrange was phenomenal During a moving i had a kind of nervous breakdown and they ended in the dump
they were really something i do not remember the parts no.
 
Yes, I've had many speakers like that. They are good in one area. When you change them you can lose the goodness so you leave them performing badly in the other areas.

It takes much work to find this sound on your own, but eventually you may find it.. then you will know how.
