"YEDS-3" CD

Hello all

I'm doing some adjustments on an OLD :geezer: CD player of mine.
in the service manual, it clearly states, that a Test Disc YEDS-3 is required.
I've searched high and low on the web without any luck 🙁
All and any help would be very much appreciated 🙂

Cheers and stay safe.

PS🙁by the way, it's an old pioneer p-d1 from 1982 I believe).

All the normal pickup and servo adjustments in a CD player can be performed using a representative Red Book CD, in other words a commercial music disc (never CDR or RW). Just make sure you pick an 'average' disc. For every 100 cd's just one might be more or less reflective (higher or lower RF) or be physically imperfect (eccentricity or runout).

Official test discs like the YED's conform to exact physical dimensions, thickness, run out etc but this make no difference to alignment procedures.

Hi Mooly, and thank you very much for the info. I will do as you say, and get back to you with results. One last thing, I burned a copy of the Sony YEDS-18 Test CD, by what you say in your post, my copy will most surely not work...
Once agin thank you very much and have a good one.
Stay safe.
