Greetings all,
I've just purchased this amp above second hand, and I notice that the display is very dim, and the subwoofer also shows sign of distortion occasionally. It has been in storage for 11 years, and I'm assuming based on anecodotes from other forums that a Cap in the power supply is on the way to failure and voltage levels are not running to spec. My question is whether there are any people out there that have experience with this amp's PS, and can shed some light on which Caps (I guess electrolytic) are more prone to failure.
Separately, I notice that in the RX-V557, (which has a similar power supply module to the 663), that C405 has been the common failure point that many complain about for a number of reasons (in yellow in attached photo). I guess it would be reasonable to assume that C2508 on the RX-V663 (schematic attached also) is the likely problem. Would you guys agree?
Thanks in advance
