I have a Yamaha RX-A3000 receiver & it feels like it's slightly vibrating if you touch the unit. I know it's still under warranty but I was wondering if any of you are Yamaha authorized & have heard of any service mods to correct this problem. I just don't want to ship it off & am perfectly capable of repairs if pointed in right direction. I haven't tested it yet as I have no schematic. I am assuming this vibration is either slight ac leakage, transformer vibration or some other anomaly with the new hybrid power supply which I'm not familiar with. Any ideas on this would be appreciated.
Its usually inductors/transformers that cause vibration.
Unless it is loud and annoying you then I would leave it.
You could rubber mount it. Toroidal transformers usually come with rubber mounts anyway.

Hello nigelwright7557. I just bought some rubber washers for the transformer but just thought of something. Could the transformer be using the chasis for heat dissapation? If so would this prevent proper heat exchange? This is not torrodial but just a regular transformer.

It should be ok.
