I have a pair of Fountek Neo 3. Im considering crossing them over first order. What is a safe XO Frequency so as not to blow them up.
Ok, so you are determined higher order xo's are "bad", then I guess you will be safe with a very high xo point. Hard to tell what frequency exactly.

Im not in the camp of higher order crossovers are bad. I am experimenting and i have the latitude to crossover as high as 6k maybe 7k. I am wondering if that is high enough to keep me from frying the tweeter. Once I do my experiment and I can go higher order I may do that. Hell, I used to do 4th order all the time lol!
Be careful with 1st order! I have ruined a couple of Fountek ribbons in tests. The ribbon can be changed but it is a bit tricky

OK now you sacred me Lol! I may have to go at least second order 5K should be ok and the values small. I do not want to damage the driver.
I'm a big fan of 1st order crossovers, but for this driver i would also go 2nd order, to protect the driver. You need to crossover it too high to go safe with a first order. I would not do a 1st order under 6kHz with this one.

Technically I can go as high as 9K crossover pt. First order at 9K?
High xo is nice and friendly for the tweeter, but where do you find a midrange who's happy with that too? It is all about matching!
XO Point
Theres a 4 inch SB driver that goes out to nearly 10K. Don't have the model number at my finger tips. I'm doing multiple 4 inch drivers. Just playing.

To add to a 1st order is there a notch type filter one cd use to brick wall under a certain point
The specs are HERE Looks like they're recommending 2500hz.
Doug that is with a 3rd order. I was hoping to do something above 5k. Maybe 6500?
