I can assure you those are rebranded TDA7296 as you can see in the image it mentions Singapore.
unless you are that seller, you cannot assure me of anything. TDA7296 never came out in that package , so "rebrand" vertical chips and then bend the legs , make the plastic tubes , all of this for 0$ profit... make perfect sense.

I'm glad that the USPS seems to be working in a timely manner again and that you guys are receiving your boards.
Hi Ray Simmons, the boards are all spoken for at this point. Turion64 just got moved from the waiting list up because we had one more person not respond for payment call. If either he or DarpMalone do not pay, you will be next.

Is TDA 7296 a substitute if my operating voltage is below +/-35V ?
The pin out are compatible ?
the local shop has old stock of 7296 and are the sound signature similar to TDA 7293?

Sorry, I don't think the pinouts are compatible. There are 3 pins that are not connected on the 7296 and all of them are used on 7293.

Hi Pete/Turion,
I shall be very interested to read how that one compares with your Aiyima, when the time is right and should you feel so... don't hesitate to PM or post your findings.
Have a nice project

Thank you Claude! I actually don’t own a Aiyama amp. I have been playing with Lester’s V1 tpa3255 amp and 3eAudio’s V2 tpa3255 as of late. I own a Dr Mordor’s 3255 as well and it is just a wonderful sounding amp as is although I may swap out the opamp to a 1656 (once I can actually get one again!). The Xmas amp’s competition will be mainly against my main amp, a MyRef Fremen Evo A LM3886-based amp. Chipamps are simpler beasts to build an amp around IMHO.
Yes, I plan to vary the build components a bit on the Xmas amp but I’ll be following everyone’s else’s build experiences with excitement. Building & playing with a new DIY project is always fun.
Cheers, Pete

BTW, I admire all that investigative work & build variations you did with your Aiyama amp. I’ve adopted a lot of those findings and tried them out on both Lester’s V1 3255 as well as 3E’s V2 3255.
I’ll be following your findings with your Xmas amp closely.
Pete
Many thanks Pete 🙂
Well, I don't have a Xmas amp... but I find it an intersting project. Perhaps one day...
Once you are done, I would be delighted to read your findings regarding this Xmas amp vs DrMordor's Class D, be it with or even without OPA1656. Of course also interested in th eresult vs the Fremen 3886...
Looking forward to it
Have fun building it together

...and I thank you for leading me to the Xmas amp project (post #229 from your Aiyama upgrade forum).

It looks to me like the 7296 is pin compatible with this board as long as the bootstrap capacitor goes to pin 14 rather than pin 12. Or just short pins 12 and 14 on the board. Compare the schematic on the first page of both datasheets. Perhaps a solder bridge on the PCB for the 7296?

Yes, keantoken, this modification might work.
All in all the TDA7296 isn't just a downsized 7293 in terms of output power, but it also lacks many features of the latter one.
Best regards!

Hi,
I had a quick look at the schematics and was wondering about the input impedance of this little power amp as proposed. I thought it could be usefull to know it so people could deal with it sides preamp etc.
It seems it could be lower than 20k, or am I mistaken? Perhaps in the 16k region?
Should this be correct, is there a reason for having chosen the entry caps C1 and C2, or C101 and C102 being as low as 1uF on the schematic (or even .68uF in BOM)? I understand there might be other considerations such as sonic balance, not overstressing the amp, interaction with DC servo, or even people not running this amp on full range LS...
Of course I might be completely wrong with the input impedance value, in which case please don't hesistate to correct me LOL!
Last but not least, is there a reason for having chosen MKS or C0G in signal path as entry caps, instead of say affordable small PPP caps à la 940C?
Just thinking out loud and sorry for my intrusion!
Many thanks for your help
