why not post a picture of this (Nelson Pass ) device ?

Yes, I considered that. I'd have to post the entire image, and being a photographer, I'm trying to be respectful of his copyright on that image. The text I copied verbatim, but I did excerpt just the important part, and I did it for an educational purpose, so hopefully The One And Only won't be too upset???

Here's a link to the Pass manual where the image appears. It's on Page 5:

A US source has been located for these rare jewels! A kind soul and a fellow board member who keeps on giving emailed me and asked for my mailing address. If I get a return mailing address back, I'll send him a check and some artwork for his troubles.

Thank you to all who have responded!

Bryan ... the XLR shorting plug's vendor - you mentioned that a US source has been located, could you post a link or a phone number? It drives me nuts that I can't find anybody selling them. I know Mr. Pass uses tons of it.

Note; I've read this whole thread, no, I do not want to built it, and I do not want to short any prebuilt XLR male jack.

You're right, shorting the male jack pins is the easiest way. I've got plenty of those.

I also saw your response on the other thread. I'm just surpised that for such a simple things, nobody makes them even though a lot of commercial amps uses them.
