XF2.3 migration bug reports

Donor badges/shields seem to have gone missing.
Thanks Tom. Should be fixed today, it’s due to removal of an icon design library the theme was using previously. The removal of that allows for better performance (you might have noticed the site feeling a lot more snappy since the migration, this and the native JavaScript are the main factors). Will we bring back a shield or go with more standard XF badges… TBD 🙂

The bookmarks tab should be under your profile avatar (tap this at the top right of a page).

Edit functions should be here..

If you have an existing link you want to change, you can do it like this (also works if you use the alternate post compositor)..

If you use the default post editor and you want to create a new link, you can use this tool..

On a desktop browser view, there is an unexpected behavior when clicking twice on the magnifying glass search icon, clicking ones drops down the search window as expected, clicking one more time closes the drop-down window as expected, but also redirects the user to another web page, the advanced search page: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/search/

Work around is to use Esc button or clicking anywhere else outside the drop-down search window closes it without triggering a web page redirection.

In hindsight it may also be a convenient way to jump into the advanced search page.

ps. a small cosmetic thing, the 'Search' and 'Advanced search...' buttons could have their positions swapped with each other, the expected primary execution button in most OS and web page UI's is often placed to the most right position.

Good question. Despite wanting of course to show more visible merit to those who have paid more for their memberships, I have always shied away from this in the spirit that everyone should be able to feel good about being able to pay what they can afford. The site is very lucky to have many members who despite the lack of public recognition choose to donate more than the minimum. If I made it visible how much people had paid, I have always felt it would be against the spirit of the forum - that everyone who makes the effort to help support the forum financially can feel good about it no matter what they can afford, or what the economic situation is in their country. At one point I think we were going to base it on the average wage for each country, or the price of a coffee, that kind of thing.

But maybe that concern of mine is misplaced. The forum is struggling financially and soon there will be a membership drive to celebrate our 25th anniversary and try to bring us back into the black.

Certainly one this is clear - we need to make paid memberships more enticing in order to ensure the financial viability of the forum in the long term, and create an excellent value proposition whatever that is.

Thanks for your feedback.
