XAM Mark II B

I have owned 2 of these. One was branded Silvertone, the other XAM. Great little SE amp. I replaced all resistors and caps in mine. Huge soundstage for a claimed 4 watts. Probably 2 1/2 to 3. I cannot tell you where they were manufactured or by whom. Have fun with it.

My recollection (a little fuzzy, but usually good) is that XAM was a house brand of EJ Korvette - a department store chain in the New York metropolitan area. Supposedly, the chain was started by "Eight Jewish Korean Veterans" - probably not true.

Through the sixties, at least, they were generally one of the least expensive places to buy albums, and they carried a fairly decent selction of equipment.
