Hello, new guy with a mixer question. Can I connect my Denon cd player into my mixer's mic (xlr) ports? I want to do this to pick up the eq and effects on the mixer. I see most are using the rca inputs for a cd player.

My gear:
Behringer x2222usb
Denon-D4500
Gemini PDM-02
Behringer Ultra-graph pro GEQ3102
Behringer Super-x pro CX3400
2 QSC 1450's
2 QSC 2450's
2 QSC 4000's
BBE Sonic Maximizer 882i
8 JBL JRX125's
2 Cerwin-Vega EL-36B's
2 custom cabs with New Madrid 18's

Yes and No.

Yes you could but you need an extra component called a DI to reduce the players line level output to mic level, and if you want stereo you would need 2 of them or a stereo model and that would use up 2 channels on the mixer.
The easier way to do this is to simply utilize one of the stereo line level inputs on the board such as 9/10, and to do that you just need a pair of RCA to 1/4" TS cables or a standard stereo RCA cable and a couple RCA to 1/4 adapters.

Hey Chris, thanks for the reply. Whats wrong with using the Sonic Maximiser? When I play classic rock cd's (Boston, Yes, Led Zeppelin, ect) the sound is very full and clean. When playing outdoors, it sounds close to a live band. I haven't used this system for a live band though, so thats when I probably wouldn't use the Sonic.
