will it work OK for a DIY projector? so I don't need to turn on PC everytime I want to watch a DVD.

Not sure of excatly how high of quality that is. It's like a cheese box takes a video signal and converts it to VGA. I wouldn't reccomend using an X-box as your dvd player as I have heard bad things about playing dvd's with x-box.

Actually I got one that is a little different (23.99 on ebay). Basically, the one I have does not have the cables attached, just has the VGA out and in, Svideo and the three RCA jacks. My LCD Panel plugs right into it with the supplied cable from the LCD Panel it it works perfect. I could not be happier. I actually have two panels, and Nview Spectra C and a MegaShow and it works perfect on both.
