Got mine. Been burning it in for the last week. Got the $40 upgrade black gate caps, metal film resistor & replaced occilator. Total w/shipping $295. As others have said, got here in 5 days.
Unfortunately I am unable to give a realistic before and after review. So much has changed in my system with this the latest it is difficult to keep track of the evolving sound. First new tweeters, then new home brewed speaker wire (pure solid annealed copper and silver). Then can't stand my DVD/CD player any more. Way too bright and sharp/digital sounding. No bottom/mid-base. Get new DAC. Better but not impressed. Then it occurs to this vinyl-head - when was the last time you cleaned your lens????
YES!! I may be a dummy but it all worked out. I can actually enjoy the better quality cd's now and the early ones have become tolerable. The dac did as promised, much better weight and slam to the bass/midbass. Midrange is balanced and smoother. Highs have better detail, realism and decay. Definately more dynamic and much closer to analog than the 'sharp and rough' digital I was used to.
Thanks to this forum and Kevin for steering me to this product. The improvement is way beyond $300!
