Phil,

I almost forgot, Kevin Haskins of DIYCable/ Exodus Audio is introducing a couple of updated Adire-style woofers. I think one of them is a drop-in replacement for the Shiva (it may include an XBL2 motor).

Thanks Terry. I thought I saw the handwriting on the wall when they merged with Hemp.

Too bad really. I thought Dan was a great guy. Bad things really do happen to good people.

I have a couple of Tempests in a sonosub that really rocks the house and was planning on a couple more based on Tumults.

He'll be missed. :bawling:

Hi Phil,

I don't think Dan missing, he's currently under contract with Microsoft and also designing (5 or 6) drivers for JBL. There are others as well.

Since I'm here, are you, or have you thought about, coming to the DIY Meet on Vashon Island next Saturday? Should be a lot of fun with free BBQ, demo of speakers, amps, etc.

I was going to suggest Creativesound.ca for Tempest drivers, but they don't list those any more. I'd hoped since they seemed to be getting the Tempest Classics direct from Eminence they might not be affected. I'll have to scrape by with the three I have now (one in my van, two still in cartons).

If you're in the market for a Shiva or Tempest Subwoofer you may want to check out DIYCable/Exodus Audio. Kevin Haskins has decided to offer an updated and improved version of these drivers. I believe that the "Shiva" replacement driver is in stock and the "Tempest" will soon be. You may want to read a bit more about what Kevin's up to with this thread:
