years ago i found a BIG heatsink loaded with some high powered 4 ohm 250 watt resistors, perfect for a configurable load bank. Building a new lab for work and I am on the hunt for something similar. anyone have any big 4/8/16 ohm high powered resistors laying around, etc?

yup, 10 years ago, ABC Industrial, Axman, Acme lots of good surplus stores in MN, not so much anymore.
Take a look on Pete Millett's website. He has a load box and gives a source for relatively inexpensive load resistors.
A friend uses the elements of an old electric fire - just tapped off with a jubilee clip at 8 ohms.
Heatsink wise look for old tig welders that's what I use for my dummy 10" x 6" x 6" approx tunnel HS, I have another you could have but shipping to the states would be mucho expensive.
Ali clad resistors are cheap, not convinced of the need for non-inductive types unless your testing amps at VHF.
Andy.
