Does anyone have some good, maybe silver coated wire for my internal speaker connections that they would like to sell?
I am finishing up the rewire of my Maggie's and just need connection wire to finish them.
I'm thinking 14 awg should be fine, that's what the inductor is.
I only need a few feet each of basicly any color.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks, I was hoping someone had a few feet laying around that they wanted to sell. Worst case I will buy new.
Why not just get some Van Damme studio wire off amazon for a few dollars? Enough people swear by it. Sold by length, available in plenty of different gauges.
If anyone tells you silver coating makes an audible difference slap them. Hard.

Don't forget to slap those who hear difference in CD players and amplifiers too ...hard😉
CD players and amplifiers are made out of a lot of *active* and passive elemets, have gain, a certain frequencyresponse, are powered, etc.
TONS of non linear stuff going on, doing things specified by the designer.
A 2 feet piece of wire is .... a two feet piece of wire.
Flat from dc to a few MHz (where inductance even if straight starts to make a difference) and can be trusted to have a 0% distortion spec.
Now, how do you say it will affect sound?
Just curious.

I have just shy of 8' of Belden 5T00UP (10 ga.) in the grey jacket, purchased from BJC, that I used to wire up my four pi knock-offs.
It's yours for the cost of shipping. Figure 13 oz. from 14850. FedEx and USPS are most convenient for me.

Home Depot. Lots of good wire there.

What if it's small-diameter wire, coiled tightly around a .5mm ferrous core?
I have some other wire, roughly 14 gauge, solid core, insulated in an attractive white jacket, that I'm sure the dry cleaner won't miss.
Again, for the cost of shipping.

It´s called an inductor, NOT a 2 foot piece of 14 Ga speaker connecting wire, so absolutely unrelated to what we are talking here.
The 14 ga wire is also an inductor , as I already noted, but noticeable at, say, 100 or 200 MHz.
In fact, it´s an excellent 1/4 wave antenna at 123 MHz, go figure 🙄
