WTB enclosures

DAC enclosure. I saw a great looking DAC on a Japanese website, that was simply a small hardwood dovetail jointed box of the sort I see at markets very cheaply, and inside the DAC itself was in a diecast Al box that fitted snugly inside.

I don't like the signature of most metal chassis, so why not hardwood, with a perforated top panel for ventilation? Wood is usually much easier to work with, and you can make it so it doesn't look like a piece of industrial kit.

Unless you have your own CNC, or a friend with one, billet work is expensive. This I know from working on engines; my wallet still screams when I even think about it, and I have a friend who can generate all the machine files for me free.

Look at some of the European sites (ie Pathos, Unico) or Japanese hobbyist ones for alternatie ideas. My new 'big' monoblocks will look nothing like most amps.

Cheers
