There s no protection in this amp.
This schematic is the application note of Hitachi for their
lateral fet devices , although this version has different resistors
values , the 47pF compensation is also at the wrong place as
it should be connected between base and collector of the facing
MJE340.
You can add a diode and a zener in serial from gate and drain
of the of the fets to provide some current limitation.
