Would this light help out us DIYers?

I was browsing the surplus shed website and came accross this high powered light they have.

Would it be of an use to us DIYers??

I saw that too. Looks like a small chamber in the middle but the reflector is probably a parabolic. Wait, i take it back. Should be elliptical because a runway light will be set to spread a narrow cone around the AOA of the incoming planes. ~13 with +/- ~8 degrees. It will probably be incandescent because they are slowly strobed up the runway. Cant do that with MH!

I'm not sure what kind of light it is but it looked kinda cool to play around with. Even if i could just use the reflector to "spot beam" the light into the lcd.

According to G.E. that is a Par 64 sealed beam. You won't take it apart without breaking it.

With a color temperature of 3000, I would not recommend it. Although it doesn't say the lumen output, comparable bulbs produce between 6000 and 8000 lumens, which is not nearly enough for a projection system.
