The beyma 15lx60v2 does -3dB 30Hz in 139 liter 4,9^feet. 95dB 1Wmtr you can increase the result by placing it near the floor to get 97dB.
First picture is the output of the BR-port. Ad to the radiation of the cone, second picture. The thirt picture is the loudness at 1 W. This can be raised 2-3dB by placing the woofer near the floor on wide baffle.

As I see your demands it is better to use the 15LW30 very low distortion high sensitive neodymium woofer.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

This example -3dB 40Hz 4.6^feet, Spl 98dB 1wmtr very sensitive.

Pictures compared to 15lx60v2, the 15lx60V2 will do real subbas.

which one are you modeling there? in your last post, I am a little confused at which driver it is for?

The most sensitive one is the beyma 15LW30 a very nice driver grey line. With port gain added you can have -3dB 40Hz and 97-98dB 1Wmtr. -10dB 28Hz.

You can compare it to the 15lx60V2 bleu-line but that one has even serious output below 30Hz. -10dB 22Hz!

It are both drivers with optimized parameter for compact box and efficiency and bass-output. Not to find every where.

Well, after talking to the wife today about what the budget may be and it looks like the TPL is out for now.....her reasoning is pretty good in the fact that I am a "tinkerer" and will just want to upgrade everything later anyways.....which is pretty much bang on about me....build a computer less than a year ago and I have already wanted to change everything on it....oh well

So I started looking at the option of making some Triple 8 copies but I still think that the best way for me to go is with a ribbon. Someone pasted a creative sounds horned ribbon that is 95db 1w/1m that is alot cheaper than the TPL and I am going to look at my other ribbon options as well.

However, I do have one question. what if I did 2.5-way WTW monitor with two 8s or 10s? i wonder How the dynamics would be with it?

ha, ok, so I may have pissed of my wife today as the JBL 120Ti that my father in law gave me are close to the same size that I would be looking at for the planned 3 way design. granted they are a bit shorter but she was already complaining about their size. SO I may have to scrap such high sensitivity and go with some smaller drivers. Maybe some 6.5" for mid to try and keep the size down a bit and only aim at 92db 1w/1m. I will update this as soon as I know what I can get away with....

Then your are maybe saerching for the wrong desing en go for a good fullange design. From planet10 he makes very nice smart design witch may look simple to people who do not know al the ins and outs.
They do above 90dB 1wmtr very compact. They can give some extra feeling to the reproduction full range magic. And not expensive, your wife will love you even more.😀

HA! do to selfish reasons I wont show my wife those....

Why you may ask? I am going to try and build the 3 way without her knowing since she never goes in my garage anyway....and woops....sorry honey they are done now

Those could be really fun for a 2ch system for the bedroom though....some mood music....but i have a roku box in the bedroom too.

I is possible to make high-efficiency compact with a line array. You need 4 midwoofers that do 90 dB in 20 liter box. Then you can make 96 dB in the line array of 80 liter. 2,8 ^feet

Here a example with four scan speak 6,5" drivers 96dB 1Wmtr. And with port gain -3dB 40Hz.

And with this highend planartweeter.

watching Iron Man 2...

The shelfs are moveable in the entertainment center so the shelf above the small bookshelf will be removed to fit some monitors.

Enough space under tv for a large monitor for a center channel...current one you can see above the TV.

Forgive the xmas decorations that are still up....I am not allowed to touch them as my wife thinks I will break them...probably true....and she hasnt taken them down yet...

Here a 93dB 8" midwoofer beyma 8LW30E also nice with the swans RT2 . Comparable data to expensive accuton ceramic-drivers of 8 times the price.
beyma-8LW30-size250.gif

Volume 0,85 ^feet.

When you use it in that Case we have to time it lower because of room gain with the case placing. Then it will come close to 96dB.

yea you can see the sub there with the red basket ontop. SVS PC12-NSD. far right side.

I was looking at that same 8" driver late last night with the CSS Planar2 which is 95db 1w/1m.

I could also cut down the size by off setting the tweeter and mid to cut down the height.

I also have a Paradigm PDR-8 of the side by the fireplace that you cant see for bass smoothing purposes.

This two way will make a very low distortion two way and with the sub you have your three way.

Maybe it is a idea to make the bassreflex port adjustable to tune it to your placing. Then you make the port length adjustable to twice the length to get a lower tuning.
