Mrs. J and I were discussing the fact that several diyAudio members enjoy starting their game of Wordle with the word AUDIO. She wondered, what would be some good choices for a second word after AUDIO? After a little programming/debugging, I came up with an answer that I think might be pretty good: CERTY .
Yes it's in the Wordle dictionary, see attached image for proof. Some dictionaries say it's a slang form of "certificate", others say it's an Olde English word meaning "assuredly". In either case it's a perfectly legal guess in Wordle, and check out the statistics. Those ten letters are all in the top half (13/26) of the Wordle frequency table. Looks reasonably promising to me.
So, for those who enjoy playing Wordle with an initial guess of AUDIO, I offer you this little idea. You get all the vowels, including Y, you get all five of the top-5 most frequent letters, and you get zero "clunkers" (letters with low frequency of appearance). Hope you enjoy it.

And if you decide to play three fixed guesses, AUDIO + CERTY + SLANG gives you the every one of the top 13 most frequent letters, every single vowel including Y, and (a bonus!) the letter G which is in position 17 of the frequency table.
I always start it with a variation from these letters RSTLNE and adding another vowel. So far my wins are mostly after 4 guesses. And yes, the letters are from Wheel of Fortune’s final puzzle!
