6 guesses are just too many. sometimes I need to add a little pressure.
😉
Lately I've been playing "WordPlay". In that game, you advance to a higher level after solving 10 puzzles with higher level words. Once you get to level 20 or 30 or so, the strategy is simply to solve the puzzle - even if it takes all 6 guesses. I've played almost 800 games of WordPlay, and up to level 50 now. Maybe I need to remember whether I'm playing Wordle or WordPlay.

actually yes, stronger coffee would help.

I am hoping not to spoil anything for anyone. if so, I am sorry but I want Dave to help me here.
So this is just another version of Wordle with a new thing or two, like full stats?
Do the words get harder as you advance up the points ladder?
What is the guess distribution? Does that mean you got one word on the first guess and 399 times you got it on the 4th?
Why is there a 7th guess category?

Cal, if you select "new game" at the top of WordPlay, it generates a new puzzle.
Without registering, it keeps track of my record, even after turning off the computer and rebooting each day.
You get your personal level info at the left, including how many more puzzles need to be solved to get to the next level.
In general, the words get harder, but the randomness often gives you words that are at a lower level than where you are.
I believe the "level" of the word may be related to statistics of all users.
The "score" after solving seems to depend on the "level" of the word, and how few guesses it takes you. (I'm not sure how the algorithm works).
Don't know what the 7th guess category means. I've been playing this for a while. There may have been an option at one time to make more guesses?

Dave, maybe I should quit now. Getting it in 3 when it averages 4.7 tells me it‘s a good time to take my money and run. 🙂
I had to take a break from my speaker project a few weeks ago. Had a run in with the biscuit joiner.
Turns out that my left thumb isn't needed for typing, so I turned to word games. And I use my right thumb for the remote.
Be safe out there.

Looks in one piece. A young guy like you should have that silly bandage off in a week.

Any real damage? Other than your pride I mean.

Luckily no damage to nerves or tendons or bones. Movement is ok. The doctor managed to get 4 stitches in it. It got infected and needed a 2nd round of antibiotics, which finally cleared out. It got torn up pretty good, and it looks hideous now, but it may be another week or two until the new growth shows through. The nail may have to go through a couple of cycles before I know if that gets back to normal (hopefully). It will probably leave a trophy scar. With all things considered, I feel fortunate - it could have been a lot worse.

It's a good reminder to work Safely. I was cutting a biscuit slot in the top edge of a long speaker panel. The far end was butted up against a stop, but there was nothing in place to secure the end of the panel that I was working on. The biscuit joiner blade kicked the panel away to the right, and my left hand went with it. Things happen fast.

Note to self: take your time, think things through for Safety.

The wood panel didn't get damaged or stained, and best of all, I think my pride is intact. 😉

I know of one furniture maker who has three fingers on one hand and four on the other. (including thumbs) Taught me to use clamps not one of my hands! Though I have a few nice scars from table saw kicks. Currently use a Felder moving table saw with a riving knife. One fellow who used to work for me questioned the much greater expensive of the Felder saw versus my prior Delta table saw. He ended up with the Delta. I guess he didn’t get the hint when the Delta kicked a small piece up through my 12 foot high 1/8” plastic dust window and more than 100 feet down the shop. I thought that if that piece had hit me up close to the saw it might have hurt a bit. So I just figured avoiding more injuries was worth the price!

Moral of the story, learn from your mistakes and stay safe. Of course it is even better to learn from the mistakes of others.
