Hi guys ...A 3 way speaker system was what i planned a few years back and now its time ...well almost to complition . A few years time was required as i had to arrange for the money, time, effort etc etc......
The mid/tweeter section took me more than a year to finish ( as i had to design the mid woofer + crossover ). Its almost the same case with the bass section (no x-over).
Though a few decent 12" woofers are availble locally, I thought why not make a more decent one. So it started and here r the results. And as always it a pleasure to share it on this site. A few construction images of the woofers and the cabinets.
Woofer data :-
Fs - 29Hz
Qes - .387
Qms - 12.2
X max - 7mm lin
Vas - 4.02
Re - 4ohms
Spl - 90.3dB
Le - 1.1mH ( 4layer/52mm/Kapton VC )
Bl ~ 16 +
piston dia = 10.5"

more pictures would follow as i achive completion. No x-over though as its for a bi-amp system crossed at 220Hz using 4th order LR filter.

Great work, Sumit! This is extreme diy indeed!
Now you need to make yourself a CNC machine like the one Jay
from Thailand posted. He has made some cool speakers with it.

60ndown, which drivers are these? Do you have any details on this speaker - cabinet design, crossover design, etc..

For the mid its the old old post

X over >> Bi-amping...... As for the woofer its crossed at 220Hz with a 4th order active LR filter using opa-627..... For the mid and tweeter ( passive 2nd order LR x-ed at 1.7khz ). The woofer and mid bass cabinets are both sealed types. The tweeter is vifa xt25...modified obviously....;-)... added a long ( 10" ) rear damped chamber which reduces the resonance form 565Hz to about 480Hz.....
