Does anyone have experience with the ESS amt1 towers? Same drivers as amt1 in transmission line cabinet.
I was hoping to upgrade the original 10" woofers (small Alnico magnets) to improve the mid-bass.
I've read about possible recommendations, including the new ESS woofers, but I was hoping that someone has personal experience with these.

I have the large AMT tweeter paired with a HiVi D8.8 woofer. Crossed over at 800Hz/24dB with the MiniDSP. Sounds amazing.

Have you tried higher crossover frequencies? I've read that some people cross that tweeter at 1200 Hz or higher.
I'd like to keep the transmission line cabinets and find an appropriate woofer for them.
Other option would be to convert them to a 3-way.

Yes, probably better. Designs of the '70s used to have big woofers.
Nowadays a 7-8" performs better than a 10"...It's difficult to cross a 8" with a tweeter. But being an AMT... ( I never heard those big ones, and people swear that they sound magnificient 🙄😕 )
I'd put an extra baffle and try a smaller woofer!
