I never use my table saw with a long sleeved shirt, too easy to have the blade pull your whole wrist into it catching a cuff. Same goes for using the saw with gloves on. If its cold roll up the sleeves.
Gloves and rotating power tools do not mix. The fabric winds round the shaft and pulls the hand and arm into the cutting edges remorselessly.
Don't wear gloves when operating a lathe/drill/router/rotary saw(*). Long sleeves need to be turned up, and ties are verboten.
However suits of armor are fine!
(*) Well guarded rotary saws may be an exception to the rule, but why would you need gloves anyway?
