... alright Im postin this here cause I bet only you all would understand where I come from. I put in my angling rings for my car stereo and I threw it on the RTA with correlated and uncorrelated pink noise. With some mild EQing Response is definately smoother then without the angling rings, however I had a dip around 3.5-4K hz. Wth was this I thought. I then thought, hmm maybe it is phase cancellation, especially how the tweeters were neither coincident, nor co planar nor coaxial to the woofers. The EQs I have are either 12 or 18 db/octave alignment around 3.5k. I reversed the polarity of the tweeters in relation to the woofers and boom the dip was gone! Smoothed out the response even more.

I just finished installing some Peerless in my friend's neon, wow! They sound great and even with just the stock head unit. Anyway, how did you measure response, what did you use to measure the response?
Also, I used a neat way to increase the bass response of the system as well. With the 6.5" Peers on the rear deck, we sealed up any holes that we could find, and glued in two ports that are 3" in diameter and about 2" long--calculated using WinISD ofcourse.. now, it sounds even better. If I measure the system and find a dip, phase-reversal is definintly going to happen, but I doubt it would occur in this car due to the position of the tweeters and mid-woofs in doors. The tweeters fire upward from the dash and the mid-woofs fire at each other from the doors.
