Hello everyone,
After going through the datasheet time and time again, I still am not quite sure to understand if I can make the WM8804 work as I intend to.
I want to connect this component to a Linkplay A98 module (Modules - Wi-Fi — Linkplay Technology) which will handle multiroom audio streaming, and has to be the master clock device. I need to have both SPDIF in and SPDIF out.
So what I would like to know is, is it possible to achieve SPDIF in -> PCM out to my Linkplay device through I2S, and then PCM in -> SPDIF out to gather the signal back from the Linkplay module.
I already managed to make the SPDIF output work, but now that I have to add the input, some new questions are raised. The main issue being about the clocks of my A98 module. It seems that it outputs 2 master clocks, one to control input devices (on the port TDMC) and one to control output devices (on the port TDMB). Those clocks have the same 12.288MHz frequency but seem dephased when I measure them with the oscilloscope. Since the WM8804 only has one MCLK source, I don't know which one I should take, or if it even is an issue in my case.
I would really appreciate being able to do this in hardware mode since I have no control over the microcontroller of the module.
If you think it is not possible with this transciever, would you happen to know some other chip or another solution which could fill those requirements ?
I hope I was clear enough, if not, feel free to ask for more info, i'll try to answer them as precisely as possible.
Thanks in advance !
