First of all, this is to do with my cell phone, but completely relevant to this forum, because it has to do with wiring audio...
I have a cell phone with a proprietary headphone connector. It has a mini USB on one end, a mic in the middle, and two headphones. I live in Canada, and getting an adapter with a 3.5mm plug is impossible. I've been trying for 2 weeks. the headphones on the included adapter hace since broken, and i want to use my own headphones.
My question is, if i acquire a 3.5 plug from an electronics store, how would I wire the two headphones into the plug so i could use my own headphones? each headphone has it's own wire coming from the mic. I assume there are two wire in each (+/-) for each earbud, but the 3.5 plug has 3 terminals.
Any help would be much appreciated!

First of all, welcome to the forum.
A bit more info would help as I'm a bit confused by what you're trying to do.
do you need to replace a miniUSB plug (M) to 3.5mm jack (F) adapter? You want to plug your stereo phones in instead? Do you need to have the mic work as well?
What plugs into what?
In a 3wire headset you have mic, spkr, gnd (T/R/S usually but not always) The two speaker wires are commoned (L & R in parallel), ground is shared w/ mic.

I think i have my plugs and jacks mixed up!
It is a miniUSB plug adapter, with a mic in the middle, and it then has two wires, and one go to each earbud. I want to take those two wires (obviously left and right) and wire them into a 3.5mm jack, so i can plug any headphones into it.
