so here is my situation.. i have an old ampeg v4 4x12 cab, and a line six spider III HD150... the cab is old and jerry rigged thats how i got it... honestly looks like someone spliced apart a power cord from a toster to a 1/4 male, drilled a hole in the back and hard wired all the speakers to it.. in short its gotta go! im not sure how those cabs were originally wired... now the line 6 is 150 watt stereo output at 75 watts/8ohm per side , the ampeg cab has four 8 ohm speakers apparently wired mono...
i am familiar with some wiring principles and have studied a few diagrams, what im having trouble figuring out is if there is a way to wire the cab to 8ohm stereo.. via two input jacks each wired to two speakers.. essentially splitting the 4x12 into two seperate 2x12/8ohm circuts... one for left and one for right since my amp has left and right at 75 watts a peice with no mono out put... now is this configuration possible using my existing 8ohm speakers?, i have no money for new speakers, and see as how this is a solid state amp i am trying to get as much volume/power/efficiency out of it with out damaging the amp itself... also if there is a way to install a 3rd jack that would produce 8ohm mono output for future applications that would be ideal
im on a very limited budget so the cheapest and most simple way is preferred, any ideas, tips, diagrams that may help, advice, or knowledge is greatly appreciated

You can have 8ohm mono, though. It'd have to be 4ohm or 16ohm per side for stereo use. The amplifier will probably stand 4ohm per side if it is a dual power amp design.
As others have said, there is no way to get two 8 ohm sets from what you have. Put the Line 6 is a solid state amp and is no so picky. wire two drivers is series and get 16 ohms. The amp should be able to handle 16 ohms just fine. OK, you loos a tiny bit of power and volume but you will hardly notice
The real answer is if you are running stereo guitar effects is to have two speaker cabs otherwise you loos the effect if both left and right channels are in the same box. I've been experimenting and I think I like stereo but only for a very "clean" tone
