I'm buildingh Rod Elliot's P3a and his P4 PSU with a 300VA trafo. Rod says that "heavy gauge" wire should be used in the PSU. What gauge should that be? Currently I'm using 0.75 mm2. Is that OK? How to calculate? TIA.
Hi Speek
As long as the run from the PSU to the amp is short (~10cm), then you should be OK with 0.75mm^2 wire. I used 32/0.2 = 1mm^2 wire in mine.
On a slightly different note, does anyone know of a comaprison chart between AWG / SWG / conductor area?
See ya,
Tim.
