Well it is quite the cabinet, backed up by a large group of dedicated employees that need to get paid and have health insurance etc. The cabinet includes all that and more running a company isn't cheap. As a DIY community we just see cost of parts, as a business owner/partner you see much more.

On the other hand for that money I could buy ATC SCM300A SL PROs.

Granted the cabs are not as flash but it includes $15k worth of amplifiers.

I know which I'd choose.

..the midrange actually sb acoustics SATORI..

..update:

From the reflection in Wilson Audio's driver pic., it's NOT the SB Acoustics Satori.

The Satori is a neo motor; Wilson's Alexia mid. is a ferrite motor with a bucking magnet:

yep i noticed that too, as wilson's uses double ferrite magnets. cone is similar, but the frame is definitely different, reminds me of scanspeak frame, especially the screw holes (although joachim suggested that it looked like SEAS)

Yes, that could be done. But you need the original to measure it firstly.

Build a similar enclosure, measure the individual filtered-in-box driver SPL responses and use these response as "target" responses. Import the target responses in a DSP crossover, measure the raw in-box-drivers,import the measurements, and have the DSP to calculare such a filter ch\racteristic that driver+filter are exact replicas of the Wilsons. Actually a piece of cake for a decent DSP given proper software. LspCAD 6.1 can do it.

If MiniDSP would have slightly more advanced software that could import target curves, it could even be implemented with MiniDSP. Maybe Mini DSP had advanced that far.

Kind Regards,

Eelco

I guess it can easily be done just like you said, by someone of the right caliber.

My question: The Alexias cost $48,500/pair USA dollars (MSRP), how much for the "3D" version? ...Roughly.
