In my recent book Electronics for Vinyl, I described how to make up
awkward component values with great accuracy by combining three of them
in series or parallel. This also gives an improvement in the effective
tolerance; with three components of the same value the effective tolerance
is root-three better than that of the individual parts.
The question is how to choose the three values. I told how I used the
the Willmann tables, which are an extensive collection of combinations of
component values from the E-series of preferred values, compiled by Gert
Willmann. They allow arbitrary resistance or capacitance values to be
made up of 2, 3, 4 or 5 resistors or capacitors, in up to four different ways.
I promised, with Gert's encouragement, to make these tables available on
my website, and I have now done so. They are a set of text files.

My sincere thanks to Gert Willmann for his hard work and for permission to use and publish the tables.
I hope you find them useful.

You're welcome.
I would be happy to get any feedback you'd like to give on the Tables and their use.
I will pass it on to Gert.
