Will this bulb work?

I'm planning to make my own OHP, so I search for a good metal halide bulb..

Found one at home depot:

400 Watt Clear Mogul Base Ed37 Metal Halide Bulb

light output: 36000 lumen
Energy: 400 watt
Life: 20 000 hours
Price: 28.99

Is it good?

This bulb is BIG. You really need a condensor lens+reflector to avoid hotspotting and get even lighting. If you use a BIG condesor+reflector lens it will work but it wouldn't fit inside your OHP. Try finding a FC2 socket bulb, its smaller (but still big) or go for a 575W HMI setup (not easy to get a ballast for).
