I am currently attending a tech college and i am enrolled in the electronics class. My teacher sold me a trans tube peavy head and matching cab with 4, 12' shetfield speakers, its really nice. That amp is good on its own but i play heavy death metal so the distortion sounds dated because it was made in 1992, i believe, so its not a real "modern" type sound im looking for. He said we could build a guitar pedal in school as a class function so we can ge all the parts for free from the school as long as its basic stuff, not stuff like tubes or things out of the ordinary. He has some schematics for pedals but cant really find a good pedal for death metal. So my question is, can any of you give me advice or a link to a schematic for a good pedal design for death metal that would sound good at somewhat high volumes for a trans tube amp? I would like to get a krank revolution or mesa boogie dual rectifier type sound if that is possiable. The schematics for the distortus maximus by krank would be excelent but anything with a lot of bass, treb, and gain will do well too but i would really like one of those sounds 🙂. Also if this is the wrong area to post this thread I am sorry ahead of time, i figured it would be the right place since it is for a solid state amp. Thank you for you help.
