The front page of the wiki, right now, is pretty bad. It's disheveled and only links to a fraction of the content that's actually out there. As a result, I'd like to change the wiki's overall architecture to focus on some key areas.

* Amplifier_Project
* Class_A_Amplifier

* ProjectWIP - means that a project is not yet finalized
* Help
* DeleteMe - pages that should be deleted.
[h=Wiki Demographics]%2[/h]
The interests of the people that come to this site fall into the following categories
* Newbs to Loudspeaker building / design who want to know where to start
* Newbs to Amplifier / Source design who want to know where to start
* Newbs to room treatments
* Electronics enthusiasts who are interested in audio
* HT geeks looking for advice on what to buy / how to setup their room
* People looking for feedback on their designs
* diy Build Walk throughs that they can drool over and learn from...
* Projects - complete with PCBs or blueprints and BOMs.
* People looking for advice on where to buy diy kit
* People looking for construction tips/tricks
* Specifications of drivers
* Specifications of electronics components
* << what is missing ? >>
Therefore, it seems that we should try to address the wants of as many of these groups as possible and make it easy for them to find the content that they are interested in finding. For example, loudspeaker enthusiasts are less likely to be interested in Amplifier designs.
It's not necessary to host ALL of the info above. Some of it can be in the form of links to other sites. But it should be possible to host all of the basics here.
[h=Other Structural Ideas]%1[/h]
[h=Article Templates]%2[/h]
Nothing is more scary than the blank page. Therefore, we should create templates for the most common content types, allowing people to copy an existing template, create their new page and just paste it in.
These templates will prompt people for the information that they should provide in order to create a consistent and informative article.
Page Templates Required:
* Loudspeaker Plans
* Amplifier Plans
* Construction Tips
* HowTos - tips on how to do certain tasks
[h=Wiki Editting Guide]%2[/h]
There isn't one yet but there will be. Topics include:
* Naming conventions for new articles (these will also be included in every template so people will have the info to hand when they copy/paste)
* Linking Guidelines - where, from the main tree, you should add a link to your article
* Page layout guidelines (complete with illustrations) for articles that require more than a single page
* HowTos on linking to other pages, creating new pages

Hi,
this will all be a great improvement and I support the move completely especially the setting up an area for "Blueprints" for speaker/amplifier and other project designs from forum members; which, I in fact was calling for in my Thread starter "Amplifier Database" some months ago. A format needs to established for this so they can be downloaded or printed easily.
I look foreward to developments.
Cheers

Jerry, I think a good start would be to just dump your database onto a new wiki page. That would give us a good start and a way to work out our techniques for organizing and expanding the wiki.
Right now the wiki is kind of "under construction".

Hi keantoken,
Excuse me?!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blimey, that's some intensly sarcastric and abrasive reply to my post isn't it?
Why? What need is there for the style of your response?
You must be mis-interpreting my words
(Maybe I need to translate them for you)?!
Be nice in all things

Actually, I'm really sorry, I hadn't a clue what I was writing. I wasn't intending to be offensive. The keys were clicking but nobody was home. 🙁
