It depends how badly damaged your old cable was or if it was poor state to start with.
My music system started to sound very strange.
The USB DAC output had one channel off.
One channel of the cable had broken.
Replaced the cable and back to perfect again.
The cable had been next to my chair with wheels and the constant running over cable with the wheels had damaged it.
Cable is now routed well away from the chair wheels.

Microcap is much more user friendly, you can try circuit variations very quickly once you learn it, allowing you to get more from your simulations. I tend to look at a number of small details of the circuit operation that would take me a lot longer to look at with LTSpice. My neighbor Stan is the head designer for Bryston. I told him that I just started learning Microcap.
He said that he always used Microcap but recently switched to Ltspice. Maybe I should go straight into Ltspice.
Hmmm, choices!
I really hope someone brings back this excellent simulator.
