Why the 8NDL51 is My Favorite Midbass

I bough my last set from QSC, but I can't figure out what speaker it's from.

The current version of the K8 uses a ferrite 8" woofer from Celestion, but maybe an older QSC speaker uses the 8NDL51?

That one has a different model number, 8ND1.0, quite likely a custom B&C part.

My first set of 8NDL51s were a prototype, and labeled "8NX." I bought them off the basslist, nineteen years ago. I bought another set of 8NXs off of QSC a couple years back.

I was curious to see if they're the same driver, since the 8NX is undocumented. And they're identical.

I bought mine around 2005 and they were clearly labeled 8NDL51.

The 8ND1.0 appears to have a different cone to the drivers I had. There may be other differences too such as VC length and suspension compliance. This is possibly the case with the 8NX as well.
