Common in many forums and being able to show that I appreciated a posting without the need to reply is a good thing IMHO.

We tried that a few years back and, to put it lightly, it did not work to our advantage. I will leave it at that, thanks for your question.

I've heard some of his stories. Let's just say some members are very emotionally invested in the forum.
I do like the idea of a "like" button because it encourages humour in responses.
I could see how the rating buttons could be problematic. How does a cable thread get a 5/5, by shooting down an audiophool cable, or presenting the design for one?

We'll be giving it a try when we move to XenForo, in a format optimized to work for the diyAudio crowd, whatever form that takes. If it doesn't work, it will be removed, like last time 🙂
