I noted in the Alerts that WendyLin was "following me". Also noted in the icon that he/she was banned and had joined recently. Can someone explain what is going on?

Seriously though its nothing to be concerned over. Most likely they wanted to target you, offering you something for sale. There will be nothing more to it than that.

I think so. Click your profile at the top right, click 'following' to bring the list of followers up and just click 'unfollow' to spoil their day 🙂
I think that brings up the list of people you are following, not who is following you. I don't see a list of followers.
Yes, you are both correct on that having looked a bit closer. I'm just seeing if there is a way to unfollow or disallow someone who wants to follow you and I can't see a way to do it 🙁
It seems when someone follows you, you receive an alert. That appears to be the only notification you will see.

You might look at your profile and go to 'current visitors' and that may alarm you even more. Today I was visited by the Google AdSense robot and there's a list of prior visitors....
I doubt 'current visitors' are related to your profile: those are the 'real time' count of visitors of the whole board ( check their actions/timeframe in blue).
Being able to see who visited your profile was availlable on previous software not on this one afaik.

The bots do look at member profiles, which may be why spammers like to put link into their profile page.
Now...how do we get rid of these enigmatic followers? Really!
