I humbly submit, It is more common for bilinguals as a first or second language, especially if your first language has latin language roots.
Secondarily, consumption of media consumables in english content is easy to come by even in places where english is not the local language.
I don't think it is likely to become a dead language, more likely it will continue to be adapted to the majority user base. Blade Runner comes to mind. Mix of many languages.

Rotterdam was the founding ground of gabber/techno house though. Suddenly there were many foreign house producing guys with dutch sounding names 😉

Hip Hop is probably the most global of all music genres.
I've even seen mongolian hip hop artists and its roots are jamaican.
