Why bypassing this way?

Just wondering why Jan Meier is bypassing with two 100uF capacitors in series with their cathodes turned to each other.

Look at the attached picture. (Preamp out, Processor out)

The caps protect the output opamp from DC voltages coming in through the second output. They are wired back-to-back to make a "bipolar" (non-polarized) capacitor. The unknown DC voltage could be either polarity.
Been hanging around Headwize, eh?
