Haha, I'm in Louisiana but probably wouldn't be selling it. The vulcan looks like the power supply fets have been swapped, unless it uses two small regulators and two large fets.

Wow did some hunting lately and found no deals at all on epay. Maybe good time to sell? Some old amps are top price I'm thinking of bailing. Some old Nakamichi, were close to 2 bills for pa302 I would take that. Going to put some newer amps on and see what happens, I'm thinking tax returns are coming in and that will only last a month or so.

If you have a question about a specific amp start a new thread, you have to check the box to get it to work.
Hey guys, what is this RF never saw one like this...though I'm not a big RF guy. 180477138815 Thought it was a fake but has a sticker on it and all? RF 2600X

These were the 'series 1' amps. They were bottom of the line for Rockford when they were produced.
They were bottom of the line but still were built the same as far as I could tell. Surface mount components and plenty of mosfet to produce rated power (and supposedly 1% distortion like anyone could tell) I think they built that line to make sure they could sell SOMETHING if anything during low selling periods. Their series one speaker line on the other hand (barfs) I actually admire that amp line though because of their compact size. They aren't that crappy in my opinion. I've actually never had someone ask me to repair one.
I remember series 1, I have a set of 10s I bought new in the early 90s but never saw the amps. Guess they didn't waste any aluminum in the sink. I have a kenwood here someplace with a mini-fin sink like that but rounded sides, it also looks odd and never saw one like it. But like many older kenwoods the board inside is familiar.
This Sanyo might be junk, but wondered if it was any good it does have a stereo/mono switch on it....which is usually only on older amps. 120538424346 Only says 150w+150w.

Haha looks like the pyramid gold series pb600g I had back in 91 with the stereo/mono switch. That sanyo is probably some odd rms number like 70 rms by two or something. We sold a few sanyo amps in the late 90's when I was working at a crummy stereo shop and they were actually pretty decent. I never got to pull one apart though.
I still have a Series 1 8" 8 ohm sub. I might design a Tapped Horn for it.I remember series 1, I have a set of 10s I bought new in the early 90s but never saw the amps.

I saw that place with the plans for the dual horn box, they used RFs in one but don't know what ones. I also have some 10s from some ported bazooka boxes, they look stout, should see if I can find specs. Had to repair the foam a little they are scratched, horn would be ideal.
That Sanyo does look like pyramid knobs. I don't need yet another $15 amp around here to be honest. There is a newer majestic too.
The Series 1 woofers were my favorite from the RF line at that time. Easy to use, and left money free for amps.
Can't say the same for the Series 1 amps.

I have a 1979 A/D/S/ p100. used to have two until one disappeared. was either my brother before he died, or my dad tossed it by accident after I moved out. Both were solid amps and one of them took abuse that was unbelievable. Friend was using it with a voice coil rubbing causing the amp to pop loud through both channels and once in awhile buzz loud and shut off and come back on. Took me forever to figure out why as it kept playing music the entire time "except when it would overload and cut its own power"
the P100 powerplate is rated 50WPC X2 into 4 ohms at .05%THD and 2 ohm stable. I cooked a pair of early Infinity Kappa 6x9's on one of them and it wasn't clipping. It also has a very unique "turnon" sound where theres a slight screech and a pop. Not a thump, just a very slight pop. this isnt a benefit, just something you notice after having them for a long time
My favorite stuff is my 1990s A/D/S/ stuff. 830X amp + 430X amp and a pair of 312RS subs. The only annoying thing is any time these amps pop up on ebay people spec them at 30 watts per channel due to the model number. I have the books to both amps and their spec'ed at the same power levels as the 840 and 440 which is 40WPC.
I was using the 830X bridged to 120X4 for the two 312RS subs for 7 years. I miss the system, Had to take it out when I switched vehicles and now my arthritis just won't let me put the stuff back in. At least not yet 🙂
But if I had to choose between the 1979 A/D/S power plate 100's and a cheap $200-300 amplifier they sell now, id take the 1979 A/D/S amplifiers any day.

I have an olde Harman Kardon amp that sounds better than anything new I have tried up to $1000, gave up after that and decided to stick with the old school amp.

The 4.6x was nothing to write home about either.🙁
It was a good amp when it worked properly.

Gold baby! GOLD!
BTW, if anyone has a pb700a, I want it.

I used to sell that line of RF amps back in the late 1990's. They were for the people who couldn't afford the better stuff. That line had a much higher failure rate than the punch series, but was still better than the LA Sound stuff that best buy sold. I think the Pheonix Gold entry level stuff from the late 90's was the best for the price. However, the smallest RF Punch amps were louder, cleaner and more durable... and not that much more expensive. I could usually up-sell people at least to the Punch line.
My first amps that I bought were Hifonics series VII and I miss them. They got so hot, but sounded wonderful!!!
I have a RF 2.3 and a 4ch version, if I would just put the new parts in them. They are quite small which could be useful for something, though I hate plug in modules.
I installed some Punch in the early 90s, but that place wanted to sell LP and Kenwoods a lot worse, as well as SS, pioneer, and others. The way I recall the RF were more underrated than the LPs, and the bass control was great for subs as few had EQs back then. Heck even a 45 could push IB 10s enough to hear and that is saying something. I don't recall the price, all I remember is LP and RF were pricey and a 2002 LP was like $300. I know a PAII was 350.
