At least for me, it's a no brainier to go the Aikido route. Besides the ethical issues, I just don't know what type of support or quality that I will get from the Chinese companies. Secondly, being able to talk with you guys to tailor my preamp for my system is a huge plus.

But you are supplying your own labour, CE certification, Health and safety, office/workplace safety, company tax etc. - so the price is chinese but the build is not 😉

If you wanted a fully finished one sold legally it would be a different price. What I'd like is to see some decent chassis available - my Sweet Peach may have been the cheapest chinese on the block but the chassis is quality and looks great, leaving my SRPP mod underneath (and on the driver metal plate) to work it's magic without the usual home-made look.

I'm looking for another chassis now for the next experiment - but it still may be cheaper to buy it all-in-one.
