So I advise you to look, to buy cheap readers equipped with the first tda1541 (non A), to recover the tda and try them for your projects, you could have good surprises

I have been looking for a old cd player but no luck so far...but thanks!! I will keep looking.
I did find a brand new source for $150 dollars.

Yes I have this info, I went down the list and searched for most of these cd players and some do show up on ebay and other sites but none were available.
I also went to several cd service centers and those old manufacturers that are still around and most state no parts or support.

So the hunt goes on..
