Just being picky .... How can there be a Miss Universe, if only inhabitants from Earth are competing? In the same way, how can the Superbowl winners (NFL, USA for those on another continent) be declared World Champs if only teams from the US are competing?
No one has excluded women from other planets or galaxies from competing. They just choose not to. A shame, really, as the costumes are out of this world.
If an entry was from California, that qualifies as we know that is another planet. 😀
This is the usual craze of grandeur from USA.
In the late Formula Mundial-CART races was the same thing, those races happened in two countries(USA+Canada) only and they named it Mundial(Woldwide).
What concerns me more is the Baseball "World Series".
Baseball was part of the Olympics five times and the USA managed a grand total of one gold and one bronze. Cuba got 3 golds and 2 silvers, South Korea 1 gold.
The US got beaten by Chinese Taipei and Australia who haven't even got a meaningful baseball league.

And As The World Turns was only about a few fictional characters living in a fictional town, and it was broadcast for 54 years!
It's like people on this forum that come from the United States so very often have there location displayed e.g. Hicksville, not Hicksville, USA. And top level domains as merely .com, not .com.au or whatever like the rest of the world.
