hi, i am asking if some one had the knowledge about a HV PWR AMP in the ESL that will substitute the audio step trafo. what PS
will be used, lets say for the quad 63 for exemp. I do have
a block diagram but i am not sure.
best regards

Acoustat made a direct drive amplifier for ESLs.
The ESL-63 has transformers for drive from a low impedance, low voltage amplifier. If you want to drive an ESL-63 from a HV amplifier, you will have to go into the speaker and remove/disconnect the audio transformers and bring out the connections to the delay lines, diaphragms, and bias supply.

hi,
i know Acoustat had the active ESL with some hi pwr tubes, I never listened to it, do you know the model no. or by any chance
can you get the schematic. Generally what do you think about it, this is a big project, is worth it?
Replacing the step up trafo by direct amp, looks to be a better way to drive the units.

You could take a look at ultranalog at the Phylira amplifiers. The Phylira are 845 based Direct Coupled ESL Amplifiers.
