Lost a kilo 🙂
I go shopping once every 2 weeks. Every time I try to buy sweets for only 2 days.
So far it works.

Wow nice going wg_ski! average speed of 23mph for 50 miles, that's crazy! I was very happy when I got up to 22KM/H (a bit under 14MPH) over 20KM (about 12 miles!)
I'd be super happy being able to average 19MPH for 50 Miles!!! Guess it's all relative! 🙂
Tony.
I would love to have the time to do that sort of mileage. When I had a 17 mile commute a couple of times a week I couldn't get it down below an hour. But a bike mad friend did say the jump from 17-20mph requires a much bigger increase in fitness than you might expect.
My summer goal is to do a regular 18 mile ride. The new bike I had built in january is very nice but still getting used to a 10 speed cassette.
It took everything I had to get the commute in to work in an hour. Most of the time a few minutes longer. The Tuesday Thursday group ride ran 23+. In traffic. I would ride most of it, till our paths diverged when I got close to home. It got where I couldn’t do that anymore at all, despite doing it for the last 10 years. I’m sure they’re all still competing on Zwift.
When I was working I increased slowly from 95kg (approx 190 cm tall) to 98kg. After I retired I have put on more weight and is now weighing 105-106kg.
I try to change the diet, avoiding potatoes, pasta and rice, in favour of veggies growing above ground, but I tend to slide down the carb-hole so easy.
Have cut down on sweets and sugar - today no sugar in tea or coffee. But ....😱

My weight has been pretty steady all my life.
I still take the same 32-34" waist jeans I've been wearing since I was 21 and I'm 55 now.
At 192cm tall and 84kg in weight my BMI is 22.7. Never been on a diet and I eat what I want, when I want although I do not eat overly processed food or McD, BK or KFC etc.

Just saw this thread, haven't weighed myself in probably 3 years. OTOH it seems I've been doing it at rock solid 3 year intervals.
No change at all since last time, about 116kg, before that at 6 years ago I remember it was 115kg. I do have a bit (and a half) of a "beer bag", but even so my physical condition (not the "shape" 😀) compares favorably to the vast majority of gym goers.
Could/should probably lose 10kg's or so, just not motivated at all.
Used to work out constantly when I was younger, no excess fat at 98kg's about 184cm tall. Very hard to adjust the food intake properly when I stopped.

That's funny.I still take the same 32-34" waist jeans

"beer bag"
Ahem, that's known as the 'roof over the tool shed'.

30kph over 80k is an excellent pace when riding alone, even if the terrain is flat.

"beer bag".....Ahem, that's known as the 'roof over the tool shed'...… Or "Muscles at rest" ...
My friend's explanation....." I don't need a six pack, I have the whole keg."

I can beat that (just). I can still wear the same dinner jacket (tux to left pondians) that was handed down to me at 16.

Well when I was 16 I was only 168cm, hadn't grown for a year and was worried I'd spent my whole life as a shortarse. I'd look funny in suit that fitted me then. 😉
That's funny.I officially hate you as of just now.
I think I can live with that.
Couldn't live with having to wear over-square jeans (waist larger than leg length) though. 😀
I’ve been pretty lean for my entire life, but lately I’ve stopped drinking beer and started to watch everything else I consume, as I’m getting a bit heavier around the middle.

I knew someone like that at school. He grew about 3" from 18 to 20. Whereas I stopped at 14 despite having feet that suggested (on the puppy principle) I should have gone on a bit longer.
Shhh!, my wife (ESL) thinks she invented that saying for me." I don't need a six pack, I have the whole keg."

Did I mention I hate you already? That sign post was in the rearview mirror about age 20.
Me: A very proud 38/33 kinda guy.
Me and my sisters went to Norway in 1966 and I bought a woolen sweater -- even though I have doubled in weight (almost, not quite but close) the sweater has managed to keep up with my expansion of girth. BTW, I loved that trip!
Long before the current virus crisis I had become a sluberdegullion (in the archaic sense of "couch potato"). These days I don't walk so much as shuffle. And to think that I was almost considered emaciated at 30, and unable to gain weight.
Thru mid-April, I noted that i had 'grown one belt notch'. Bothered me.
Then, certainly making top-shelf sourdough every 3rd day, white bread between those, cinnamon rolls 1× a week, and pancakes or waffles for the kids … ahem … every few days, along with magnificent Boeuf Bourguignon, quiches, salame-feta salads, BBQ'd wholesale chicken breast, enchiladas every week, tamales once in awhile (they freeze well), and a sudden renewal of a childhood happiness with bananas and breakfast cereals … kind of explained it.
Right?
What was I thinking!
So, starting April 15th, I went back on a diet of mostly protein and vegetable scraps … leftovers from the rest of the household's endless excuse of CoronaVirus temperament, and it has begun to work. I reclaimed my belts' 4th notch. On all pants.
Laid off the milk-tea in the morning, noon and early afternoon.
Laid off coffee outright, with its heavenly sweetened creamers.
Laid off the desserts, the white bread, the cinnamon buns.
Laid off virtually everything that had tasted so darn awesome.
Finally, in writing this, I hopped on the scale. Digital, you know.
It reports an embarrassingly big number, but nowhere near my April 15th max.
I'm off over 11 lbs in a month! Almost a stone!
So, this is what I'm sticking to.
If I can get that 5th notch reclaimed, I will have “won”.
