I dont know about brass sheet. Note that rullit uses wood on the outside only on his 18" rcf field coil. He uses celulose on the inside. Finally he has started a very small production run of field coils. We can assume that they are the cumliation of the clubs skills. The cones are made of cut cellulose. Would love to find what he is using. What ever it is that's what you need. Note allso he glues it together like a cut pie with uneven portions. German engineers did this with leather on there big woofers in the 50's nothing new. But I think it breaks up circular standing waves. Realistly I think trying to build your own speaker is verging on crasy. I have owned lowther. I dont think there really are all that. There just too flawed. I believe the germans did better hi efficency drivers. They certainly did the best paper which is where lowther really is flawed. Its too thin and you really can hear it. Even my phy km30 paper is inferier to klangfilm drivers. Thats why rullit started with those. They have done lowther too and given up on them. German paper technollogy has been lost unfortunatly. The early saba and grundig and seimans basicly all these drivers used the same magnet and paper sorces. They are all similar in sound. Some more sucessful then others. The japenese in the 60's 70's made some great paper too. slightly heavyer but much stronger. Iam thinking coral poineer very underrated drivers. Those are what I collect. But there is some real shockers in there too unfortunatly. Big ideas I know but modestly saying nothing is not going help any. Just my opinion of course. Al be it badly spelt one. But I have been obsessivly collecting vintage drivers for all my life untill now Iam 43 . My dad did too he got me started with jbl horns. Ultimatly the key to good paper or cone material is strength lightness and the way it handels resonance. This is why natral fibres still rule. celolos wood(paper) banana fibre hemp. And the way it is made and stamped. look at a vintage coral and you will be amased how rough it looks close up. The klangfilm are embossed very finely. And finally if you got this far. Contact rullit if you want a whizzer he might sell you some of his. He addes them to vintage drivers. Personaly I think there sill phassey things I preferr not to have. Rather have a coaxial tweeter screwed to the front.

I think I need to host then. i did find a lot of pictures actually. Some other thoughts on whizzers . If you cut the whizzers off a driver you usauly get a large peak instead. The increased weight smooths off the peak efficency spot of the driver.

If you click "Post Reply" on the lower left corner and not "Post Quick Reply" directly below you will see if you scroll down a little an area/box called "Manage Attachment".

Click "Manage Attachments" and you will be able to upload pictures, try one at a time at first. Also it helps to shrink them down first, the largest dimension, try 1,000 then if problems 500 pixels as max dim.

From what you are saying, I gather that whizzers can also serve a second function, similar to that of a phaseplug, right?

I was then gone then back again.

Hey I have tried a few times to load picks. Iam getting failed uploads I will try once more. One has worked I think. Its of my bedroom. Plenty of weirdness there.Actually its my work shop. STC 102e driving type 50se driving grundig on open baffle I think. That is my workshop where my drivers stashed and tested. And my amps are built. I will post more as I find them. I have rare pair of klangfilm ten inch drivers I will be attempting to replace there surrounds with chamois leather.I will photo that.
