Hi Folks, I normally hang around the speaker forums, but I do now and again build some simple electronic/amp bits, if simple enough...I'm no expert.
I currently use a Tripath 2020 Autocostruire amp to drive my CSS 125 FR full rangers and whilst this seems to work quite well, I can't help wondering what a little more power would do.😀
I've narrowed suitable 'kits' to the following, which seem to be the same Tripath 2022 chip, but one uses 5532 op amp it would seem. Does anyone have any experience of this boards?
I've bought from the seller so I'm reasonably happy from a service point of view.
Assembled Stero TA2022 Power amplifier board with heatsink 50-150W Power out | eBay
Assembled TA2022 + NE5532 Stero Power amplifier board 90W+90W | eBay
Thanks in advance, Nick

Hi, it really depends on how much power you require and whether you rate the NE5532 chip instead of probably the same one on the other board.
The one that is advertised with the NE5532 looks a better deal. Who knows?
They are cheap enough to buy one of each and fleabay the one you don't like, maybe.

Jon, thanks for reply. It looks like the op amp is in a socket so it maybe possible to 'roll' these with different types? If this is possible it makes that version more appealing.
