I need some opinions on these subwoofers...
Sundown z12.
DC level 3, 12"
Memphis mojo 12"
I'm favoring the sundowns for their huge magnets and quality...but I want your opinions on this matter, going to be running a 2000rms amp, in a dual; slot ported box....

At what frequency are you going to be burping for the drag? The same box is going to be used for SPL as well?
150 dB from 2000 watts requires a one watt one meter sensitivity of 117 dB.33" x 13.5-14" x 26" trunk space going for 150dB+ spl and 120dB+ for sq
Ain't gonna happen at "sub" frequencies with a 33" x 13.5-14" x 26" enclosure.
Well, with cabin gain it might be a possibility. I wonder if one could fit a TH in that size.150 dB from 2000 watts requires a one watt one meter sensitivity of 117 dB.

Or you could make a bandpass that peaks really badly (like 12db of gain, response looking like a volcano), that is tuned there too (so the driver isn't moving much), where the car resonates also, then mute it, rev it up, un-mute, mute. You'd be suprised how much louder a "burp" is compared to straight driver 1w/1m spl + wattage. Granted the voice coil heats real quick, (in Milliseconds) then loss.
Not the flattest measuring, nor transient best either, but it could put up some impressive spl "burps".
Then again, pouring all that power into a driver that doesn't move. No move = not much cooling of voice coil = it may buzz soon, or go wide open.

Well I decided to get a minivan when I get the money and put a new alt and some kinect batteries in it. So right now I decided on going for SQ quality over SPL quality. Since my cab is a little too small for that type of competition.
